Client Background

Cafe Connections’ vibrant team and bustling warehouse continue to expand, and in the height of the businesses prosperitory the decsion was made to pack up and move to a new location at 25 Riverside Way in Uxbridge that would provide the business with 5400 square meters of office space and a substantial 16,800 square meters of warehouse & industrial space, providing the ideal environment to support expanding operations and create the inspiring work and administration spaces so important into today’s working environments.

The Brief

The primary objectives were to establish a unified, interconnected environment that would operate as a single large neighbourhood, enhancing connectivity among operational areas, the warehouse, and all administrative functions to improve distribution operations.

The Design

The new layout was strategically designed with walk-throughs to encourage movement and create synergy between the two floors.

A new staff entrance area has been introduced, while the original reception area has been transformed into a sleek and welcoming main entrance, setting the stage for hosting clients. This redesigned space seamlessly connects to the project showroom, where products and innovations are displayed in eyeshot for clients and visitors alike.

Cohesive Work Environment

The ground and first floors have been thoughtfully designed to create a dynamic and functional working environment.

On the ground floor, solid and glazed partitions delineate individual offices and open work areas, all while showcasing a stunning showroom. The layout strikes a perfect balance between defined operational spaces and an open-plan atmosphere, fostering collaboration and creativity.

As you move up to the first floor, the design promotes a seamless flow between individual workspaces, allowing teams to easily connect and collaborate. A central meeting room is available for private discussions. This thoughtful layout enhances the work experience and emphasises a modern approach to office design, merging functionality with a sense of community.

Improved Warehouse Distribution

The warehouse facility, covering 16800 square feet, is equipped with adjustable pallet racking that accommodates 1,898 pallet positions. The logistics operations are located at the front of the facility, providing a full view of ongoing distribution activities for enhanced distribution management and performance.

Community Hub

The kitchen area, easily accessible from both floors, serves as the heart of the company. Appliance-rich, it’s the perfect spot for preparing lunches and serving as a gathering space for collaboration and relaxation. 

Modern chrome canteen-style tables and chairs, cosy soft seating breakout spaces inviting you to linger a little longer and large indoor plants to add a touch of nature, this area provides a much-needed space to strengthen the social and collaborative aspects of Cafe Connections’ work culture.
