Office Refurbishment Milton Keynes

Entropie is a leading independent provider of telecommunication solutions and network connectivity services. Working with only the best technology partners and network service operations, they have gained a reputation as industry experts, offering first-class service and customer assurance.

The brief 

In the last three years, Entropie’s Head Office in Milton Keynes has undergone a transformation due to hybrid working as well as employees’ preference of working from home for a part or all of the working week. 

Consequently, the company was looking to downsize their office space from two units to one and optimise the remaining space to accommodate how the working practice for the business had evolved.

In the first instance, Interior Options was recruited to provide a space planning service to get the best use of the remaining unit by creating a multi-functional space that would foster team and client connections. 

After multiple client visits to discuss the needs of the employees and the business’s intended growth, Katie, our Head Designer, produced detailed 3D renders to showcase how the space could be maximised to accommodate both.

The design

Katie’s vision was to design a space encouraging connectivity and good health. Organic and biophilic elements were integrated throughout to create a sense of serenity and well-being.

This was achieved using earthy tones, green leafy prints and incorporating textiles, such as the vertical wood panels and a unique feature acoustic wall, all coming together in a way to encourage people to interact with the space.

Katie Hardy, Interior Options Head Designer, added, “To get this project right, I needed to have a complete understanding of the client’s need for a diverse work environment. I aimed to maximise the area’s potential, and to do this, I used innovative partitioning and furniture design and incorporated acoustic panels to improve the auditory quality of the space.

The Entropie green and purple brand colours was also occasionally used in wall and furniture finishes, contributing to a considered, contemporary office design that Entropie can take pride in.”

Office refurbishment

After initially being asked to prepare the 3D design concepts, once the client saw the plans, they felt Interior Options had the right team and vision to supply and manage the complete office fit-out, including the furniture supply and upcycling. At the same time, we were also asked to repair and refurbish the second unit so it was ready for return to the landlord.

With a full strip out and furniture fit-out including; internal partitioning, a new kitchen, and remodelled toilets to be managed within an eight-week timeframe, whilst organising the Entropie team within the two units so they could continue business with minimal disruption, excellent project planning and keeping the client in the loop was essential to us being able to produce a truly remarkable space by the cut-off point.

The end result

It’s been a pleasure working with Hetan and the team at Entropie. They have been incredibly receptive to all our design recommendations, and with their backing and the incredible support of our suppliers and team, we’ve successfully solved the challenges the company has faced post-pandemic and improved the way the team are encouraged to interact with the office space.
